Don Graham met Zuckerberg through his daughter, who attended Harvard.

Relationship

After being introduced in 2005, Graham and Zuckerberg took it upon themselves to mentor each other. As the CEO of The Washington Post, Graham may have needed a bit of help with the whole social media wave while Zuckerberg got coached on how to best run a company.

The best advice she got, Lee said, came from Marissa Mayer when Lee considering taking a job at Google. Mayer said her own favorite choices had come when she followed the more difficult road. “’Are you learning, are you growing, are you challenging yourself?’” Lee recalled Mayer asking. “I always define my career in terms of that.”
